A cookie, cookie, is a text-based data file that a website can request to save in the site visitor’s computer. Cookies are often used to give the visitor access to various functions or services on the site. The information in the data file makes it possible to meet the visitors’ choices on the website. There are two different types of cookies: cookies and session cookies.
Cookies are used, for example, to tell the visitor what happened on the site since it was last visited. This type of cookies can also be used to keep statistics, save user names and passwords for logging in of services. The storage time for these cookies is determined by the website.
Session cookies can be used during the time the visitor is active on the website. These cookies are only temporarily stored in the visitor’s computer’s memory and are automatically deleted when the visitor closes their browser. A common use for this type of cookies is to keep track of temporary settings such as language, CSS, username / password or the like. They can also facilitate some type of site navigation.
Chimeslab uses session cookies and cookies from third parties such as statistics from Google Analytics.
Common misconceptions when it comes to cookies is that it is a type of virus, that websites with the help of cookies can find out personal information from a computer or that cookies are in order to send spam. Nothing of this is true, cookies are just data.
Sincerely – Chimeslab
